| With a ring of the bell on December 13, 2001, Prudential Financial,
Inc. (PFI) completed what was then the largest initial public offering
(IPO) in insurance industry history. This marked the conclusion of a project
that began in February 1998 when the company’s Board of Directors authorized
management to explore demutualization – the process of converting to a
publicly traded company. Prudential’s road to Wall Street required a vast
coordination effort requiring the constant and disciplined application
of strong project management skills to a unique process. There were over
100 subprojects that required the diverse talents and contributions of
more than 1,000 employees throughout the world and across all lines of
businesses.
Prudential’s Road to Wall Street will be presented by Peter Feeley, Vice President, Horizon PMO and Denise Maggiacomo, PMP, Director, Financial Management PMO. Peter has been with Prudential Financial for 12 years in various capacities in the Law and Finance Departments. For the past 4 years, he has been a member of the Horizon PMO which is responsible for the overall coordination of Prudential’s demutualization efforts. Denise has been with Prudential for 5 years and part of the Financial PMO for 4 of those years. She spent almost 2 years working on demutualization related projects. In addition to her PMO responsibilities, Denise is an active member of the Prudential Project Management Council and one of the creators and lead trainers of Project EZ – A Simple Way to Successfully Manage Your Projects. |
