David Po-Chedley, PMP, President, Cambridge Consulting
This presentation identified ways project leaders can remove barriers to individual and team accomplishment. The number one barrier is lack of management support or buy-in. This is critical in times of changing priorities. David revealed the leadership practices that tend to lose management support and the practices that help gain management support. Finally, participants were challenged to apply some of the ideas when they return to the office. This sessionwas very interactive, fun and productive. It introduced six “No-Bull” practices that project leaders can utilize to attract management’s attention and to gain management support. At the conclusion, attendees walked away with practical tips for navigating the politics and people issues that challenge many projects. Mr. Po-Chedley has been actively involved in project management for over 25 years. During this time, he has worked on and managed projects, and helped others to manage projects effectively through consulting and training. He is president of Cambridge Consulting, a firm dedicated to enhancing project effectiveness for clients around the world. Dave has written several books that have been used to support client workshops and consulting services. Topics include project management, e- projects, coaching, customer service, managing problems/decisions, quality improvement and leadership. David's' view graphs can be downloaded. |
