David M. Sides, PMP, Vice President - Sogeti USA, LLC will be discussing Sogeti's model of best practices for the design and implementation of Project Management Offices called the '5x5 Approach'. This set of best practices identifies five specific initiatives across five key PMO support areas: Knowledge Management, Business Management, Methods Management, Risk Management and Resource Management. There are 25 specific best practices identified in the seminar that can raise the business value of any PMO. This presentation will answer the following questions:
Enhancing PMO effectiveness will help you to reduce business risk related to projects, focus efforts on valid requirements and stop 'scope-creep', and identify deficiencies in your current project management approach. It will also improve credibility in the eyes of your customers, utilize resources more efficiently, create a positive culture around project management, and enable your organization to capture best practices and promote a learning environment. Mr. Sides has been a PMP since 1999 and has over 20 years in IT, domestic and international Program and Project Management, and Business Process Improvement consulting across multiple verticals, including Financial, Banking, Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications, Automotive, and Transportation. He is a specialist in developing and implementing PMOs, project, program, and portfolio process improvement programs, project management curriculum creation and delivery. Additionally, he is a developer and trainer in OPM3 ProductSuite; and will be certified as an Assessor and Consultant this month. Talk to Strangers!The PMI Networking Group session on Tuesday March 21 at the Pines Manor in Edison will feature an interactive participatory workshop that will allow you to practice networking. The session starts at 5:30pm, before the Chapter meeting.
The workshop will be led by Barbara Fuller, a member of the Networking group, and president of Process and Project Solutions Inc.
