Andrea C. Zintz, Ph.D.
As Vice President of Human Resources and Management Board member of the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, Ortho Biotech, Inc., Andrea helped lead the growth of the company from $40 million to $500 million in a 6-year period, and launched 2 breakthrough biotech products that lead the market today. During her tenure at J&J she was highly awarded for her work in cultural and particularly HR and leadership development, where her special interests included executive women advancement, diversity, and mentoring. She has been trained as a Black Belt at part of the J&J Process Excellence effort and is an examiner and team leader for the Competitive Assessment Process at J&J. She is also a recipient of the YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry Award. Andrea currently works primarily with senior leaders and business units of Fortune 500 and multi-national corporations to develop change and human development strategies that foster innovation. At the heart of all her work, from executive coaching to culture development, is QuestionThinking™ – an inquiry methodology for expanding perspective, increasing creativity and emotional intelligence, and ultimately, helping people to access their best thinking. As a seasoned trainer and keynote speaker, Andrea’s presentations have been applauded by the American Management Association, the Conference Board, the Federal Training Network, and the Human Resource Management Association of Canada. Andrea holds an MA and Ph.D. in Human and Organization Development from the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, California. Her doctoral dissertation was about mentoring: “What constitutes effective mentoring for career-immobile women in large corporate settings?” She serves on the external faculty of Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC, Canada, and is a member of the National Organization Development Network.
