Leadership in the Digital Age

Abstract:

Leadership today requires the ability to inspire three different generations of workers by focusing on the three C’s of Leadership: Communication, Celebration and Change.

We are inundated with information making communication critical.

Finding opportunities to celebrate, when appropriate, builds trust.

Lastly, leaders must change, continuously developing their skills to lead.

Topic:

The VALUE of Trust

Abstract:

Leadership is a values based skill and it is built on a foundation of Trust.  There has been a great deal of research on the impact that trust can have on improving the efficiency of business.  Work done by Stephen M. R. Covey, the Speed of Trust, validates that business is more successful when trust has been established and maintained.

Trust is a fragile element that is hard won and easily shattered.  The trust required within a group has enabled mankind to surpass our capacity as individuals.  This has been helpful throughout our evolution and continues today.  Trust can transform an organization and when lacking, can destroy it.

Morey’s Laws of Project Management

Murphy’s Law states: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Murphy was an optimist. As a Project Manager, you need to be a realist. Project Management is more than Processes and Procedures, it’s also about Leadership and Communication. What’s truly amazing is the number of challenges and traps that are consistent across projects, but never discussed. In this program we will review the never discussed Lessons Learned from real project management experiences across industries, as well as strategies to ensure you and your team have a great experience.

Objectives/Focus:

  • Stories based on real life project experiences, designed to impart Lessons Learned and avoid the pain of Morey’s Laws
  • Priceless insight on Project Management compiled across multiple industries (Oil and Gas, IT, Defense, Aerospace, etc.), distilled to the most potent memorable terms
  • Immediately usable tips, tricks, and strategies to limit the impact of the challenges and traps on your projects, as well as how to deal with their sudden appearance
