Title: The Recruiter’s Perspective on LinkedIn and Job Search: LinkedIn Lessons from One of Us

speaker Ed Han is a current contributor, NJ JobSeeker’s facilitator, and agency recruiter. He's been training on LinkedIn since 2009 and is ready to share what he's learned since then about LinkedIn Job Search, and the recruiter perspective on all of this and more!

  • Everyone tells you to use LinkedIn: learn why, and how to do so powerfully!
  • Learn the difference between your resume and your LinkedIn profile, and why they work in tandem.
  • Find out how to use LinkedIn and Google to circumvent the black hole!

Ed Han is a recruiter and job seeker ally with a passion for networking and helping professionals return to the workforce. As a veteran of several industries, including publishing, financial services and fashion, Ed has a keen understanding of and appreciation for the skills and traits valued in a wide range of environments, from Wall Street to fashion to publishing.

Although he came to recruiting only in the past several years, Ed finds fulfillment professionally as a technical recruiter most recently at Alltech Consulting Services in Princeton, an IT solutions and staffing firm where he sources and selects top-shelf talent for the firm's clients. He finds the diversity of his prior work experience a boon in connecting with candidates and understanding the needs of clients.

Active in his community, Ed helps facilitate the job search group NJ JobSeekers in Princeton NJ and has previously served as the Executive Chair of the PSG of Mercer County and as the online community manager for the HR networking group Whine & Dine. He recently launched his own job search group, Land Faster, which meets monthly in Warren. Since autumn 2017 he is also an adjunct instructor at Princeton Adult School where he leads a course about LinkedIn.

The holder of a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Albright College (Reading, PA) awarded in 1993, Ed is an avid social media fiend.

Topic: Expert Panel Discussion: Optimizing the Placement Process with TEKsystems

Start Time: 5:30 P.M.

TEKsystems' Kacey Woods and a panel of Recruiters and Account Managers will highlight elements of today's job market, discuss implications for PMs and guide you through the enigmatic process of job placement in this rapid-pace economy:

  • Latest job market trends
  • The basics of assessing job candidates
  • Exploring your credentials and career goals
  • Establishing your interview-readiness
  • Determining appropriate positions and hiring managers to meet your criteria
  • Turning personal roadblocks into advantages
This is your opportunity to ask the questions you've harbored about this daunting process. Remove the doubts and meet the TEKsystems specialists who can place you in that ideal career position.

Following the Panel discussion, Panel Members will be available to meet you individually, answer any confidential questions, and welcome you as a potential candidate for their extensive client network.

With more than 100 offices in North America, TEKsystems is positioned to offer premier IT job opportunities-contract, contract-to-hire or direct placement-while prioritizing your satisfaction. TEKsystems recruiters rely on establishing a lasting relationship with each candidate, focusing on understanding what you offer beyond a resume and where you want to take your career before seeking to match you with a position. The firm offers in-depth knowledge of the employers and the labor market dynamics in the region of your choice.

Remember to bring your business cards and updated resumes, and be prepared with questions!
