This mentoring program is offered free
to all PMINJ members. The Program links serious and accomplished Project Managers
with those who would like a mentoring relationship so they can learn more.
Requirements of Mentorship Program
Mentees:
- Must be a member in good standing of the
New Jersey PMI Chapter.
- Must want to learn more about Project
Management
- Must possess an interest in any part
of the Project Manager process, with the exception of studying for the PMP
exam. For individuals who are interested in learning more about preparing
for the PMP exam, we offer a cost-effective training program to acquire your
PMP certification.
Requirements for Mentorship Program Mentors:
- A minimum five years of project management
experience.
- Must be a member in good standing of
the New Jersey PMI Chapter.
- Must be willing to share ideas, concepts,
and knowledge approximately 4 to 6 hours each month.
Applications will be accepted and processed
two times each year. The Mentoring Program Group reviews the application,
and mentees are matched with a mentor. Each participant receives a one-hour
training course. The course is designed to set expectations, and to provide
the applicant with a contact person within the Mentoring group. The Mentoring
Group monitors the entire process.
The Program will be managed and monitered
by a Support Team:
A group of individuals dedicated
to supporting a series of mentor/mentee relationships. The support individual
will touch base on a regular basis with both mentor and mentee to make sure
the process is going well and insure that paperwork required to continue
the mentoring process is done on a timely basis -- this team will be the
first line of defense for any issues arising from the mentor/mentee relationship.
Requirements:
- Must be a member in good standing of the
New Jersey PMI Chapter
- Willingness to devote between seven and
eight hours a month to the mentoring process
- Attendance at mentor and mentee programs
- Invitation to sit on the steering committee
to continue to support and improve the entire process
