Strategic Project Leadership

A noted Professor of Management at the Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management of Stevens Institute of Technology, Dr. Shenhar is a world leader in project management, technology management scholarship, a consultant, lecturer, and teacher. He is the Institute Professor of Management and the founder of the Project Management Program at Stevens Institute of Technology. Prior to his academic career, he was involved in managing projects, innovation, R&D, and high technology businesses for almost 20 years. Dr. Shenhar holds five academic degrees in engineering, statistics, and management, including a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. In 2003 he became the first recipient of the PMI Research Achievement Award. 

Prior to the presentation of the first place winning “Student Paper of the Year” from the graduate class at Steven Institute, Dr Shenhar will present Strategic Project LeadershipTM, a new approach to project management that is focusing projects on creating competitive advantage and winning in the marketplace --- Just ‘getting the job done’ is not enough. This lecture will provide a mindset, a framework, and a practical, step-by-step approach on how to connect project management to business results and how to turn projects into powerful competitive weapons, and it will be followed by a demonstration of how this process was implemented by a leading New Jersey Company and the results.

miltonMilton Maisonet, PMP:  Mr. Milton Maisonet received his Master of Technology Management in May 2003 from Stevens Institute of Technology. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a PMP in the PMI organization. He is currently the Engineering Manager of Project Management for the Nabisco Biscuit Division of the Kraft Company.  Milt has over 18 years project management experience, and has managed Corporate Projects and Programs ranging from $5 - 35 Million in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Texas, California, Washington State, and also in the counties of Argentina and Mexico. Milt is married and has 3 boys, ages 10, 12, and 14.

darrylDarryl Clark:  Darryl earned his BBA degree in Economics in 1978 from Ohio University.  In May 2003) Darryl earned an Executive Masters of Technology Management degree from Stevens Institute of Technology.  He joined AT&T in 1979 and of his nearly 25 years there a significant amount of his time was as a business client instructor/consultant on Bell System equipment and services, or working as an adjunct to Finance conducting depreciation studies of worldwide plant and equipment.  Most of his career was spent in the Business Technical Sales Division where he was highly decorated for outstanding achievement for advanced network design, project coordination, and managing high-end global accounts.  He recently (06-03) accepted an early retirement package and is pursuing other interests.  Darryl is married and has a 5year old daughter.
 
khanhKhanh Ly:  Dr. Khanh Ly received MS in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 and PhD in Controls Engineering in 1994. He was employed at GEC-Marconi Aerospace, Marconi Actuations Systems and currently Smith Aerospace. His expertise was in the system design of aerospace actuation including material, structure, system reliability and dynamic simulation. He participated in different programs of leading aerospace industries such as Lockheed Martin (ILMS Missile Launcher), Boeing (B 777), Airbus (A380), Sikorsky and Westland Helicopter.

edEdward Meyer:  Edward Meyer has a Master in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2003 and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford in 1986.  He is currently a Senior Sales Representative at Carrier Corporation and has over 17 years experience in the HVAC / construction industry.  Mr. Meyer has previously held senior mechanical engineer positions at consulting engineering firms where he specialized in the design, engineering and construction management of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for commercial, industrial, institutional and historical applications.  His present position is concentrated on the engineering and application of direct digital control building automation systems for the largest air conditioning manufacturer in the world.
 
prasantPrasant Narain:  Mr. Prasant Narain received his Master of Technology Management in May 2003. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting, Taxation, Finance and Law. He has professional accomplishments in numerous areas including but not limited to IT project delivery, technology risk management and defining enterprise architecture. He has varied industry experience that ranges from projects with electrical utilities, large pharmaceutical firms, financial institutions, publishing houses and travel companies. His expertise lies in large-scale software systems and he is proficient in integration of enterprise applications. Mr. Narain is currently engaged in development of a Speed Based Enterprise Architecture Process that helps implement Management Dashboards to facilitate IT governance and risk management. Mr. Narain is married to Vinita and is a responsible father to a daughter, Maanya who turns 2 at the end of this month. Mr. Narain spends a few hours every day with Maanya and Vinita. In his spare time he pursues his interest in anthropology and rediscovering Indian cultural heritage.
 
shelleyShelley Treacy:  Shelley Treacy is currently a principal partner and VP of Production Services for Imgine That! Creative Media - a New York based company specializing in video and new media production for Fortune 500 companies. With over 15 years project management experience, Ms. Treacy has managed corporate training initiatives, marketing campaigns and technology deployment for a variety of clients including A&E, CBS, HBO, Microsoft, Intel, Motorola, AT&T, Ernst & Young and Porsche. In addition to a Master Degree in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, Ms. Treacy earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Hofstra University.
