Virtual Corporation, a consulting company that specializes
in assisting organizations implementing sustainable business
continuity (BC) programs, was granted the NJ Chapter “2004
Project of the Year” award. Virtual Corporation
leveraged its proven business continuity methodologies and
project management expertise to meet and exceed Kaiser
Permanente’s BC/DR plans. Kaiser Permanente is the
largest health maintenance organization (HMO) in the United
States. Kaiser undertook the largest enterprise-wide
business continuity program in the United States. The
presentation will address the status of the program, as well
as examples of plans that had to be activated during real
disasters.

Scott Ream founded Virtual
Corporation in 1994 specifically to assist large,
geographically dispersed organizations with implementation
of appropriately scaled, sustainable business continuity
programs. Mr. Ream is currently serving as a member of
the Editorial Advisory Board for Contingency Planning &
Management Magazine.

Skip Skivington is the national
director for healthcare continuity management for Kaiser
Permanente, based in Oakland, California. Skip is a
Certified Business Continuity Professional and holds an MBA
and a BS in Business Administration.
