Empowering Women In Leadership LCI Meeting

Abstract

Mayte Martinez, Senior Manager of Learning and Development at Brother International Corp., will begin the event as our keynote speaker with a discussion on Personal Branding. Her presentation will include:

  • What Personal Brand is and why it is important
  • How to shape our brand to optimize opportunities
  • Using survey tools to identify our brand
  • Creating Feedback Circles for continual growth
Following the keynote, Dr. Bryan Price and two female students from the Seton Hall Leadership Program will discuss obstacles holding women leaders back.  These topics include overcoming the imposter syndrome and self-imposed limitations, communication - how to give and receive feedback, and the importance of networking and finding mentors.

Mayte Martinez

speakerMayte Martinez is a certified Master Coach and Facilitator designing training programs professionally since the age of 19 and coaching thousands for almost 25 years. Her success stems from identifying the root cause of performance gaps and formulating creative and targeted development programs for long-term ROI success and talent development transformation.

At Brother International Corp,  Mayte is the Senior Manager of Learning and Development. As a two-time Board of Director winner, she has shifted the organization’s L&D strategy over the last 4 years to one of long-term programming with a foundation in coaching principles administering 5-star extensive leadership certificate programs and hard at work developing new opportunities.

Outside of Brother, Mayte has owned and operated Success AQ since 1996, a consulting practice specializing in Executive Coaching and supporting strategic organizational changes through leadership development.

Recently, Mayte expanded her business and added Solutions for Excuses after having lost over 160 pounds naturally. Her key learning of “shape your mind to shape your life” is now a speaker series and an expansion of her life coaching practice.

Mayte lives her passion everyday and knows her purpose in life is to serve through coaching and development now and when she wins the lottery!

Panelists:

panBryan Price, Ph.D., has an extensive background in leading diverse teams and organizations. He is currently the founding Executive Director of the Buccino Leadership Institute at Seton Hall University, a comprehensive, four-year leadership program for competitively selected students. Prior to arriving at Seton Hall, he served as an Army officer for twenty years, retiring from the military in 2018 at the rank of lieutenant colonel.

After graduating from West Point in 1998, Price was commissioned as an aviation officer and spent the first half of his military career as an attack helicopter pilot, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He then earned a Ph.D. from Stanford University in political science and spent the latter half of his career as an Academy Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at West Point. From 2012 to 2018, Price ran the Combating Terrorism Center, one of the nation’s most respected education and research centers focused on the terrorist threat. In that capacity, he was responsible for briefing the nation’s top military and government leaders, and in 2016, he was asked to testify in front of Congress on the state of U.S. counter-terrorism since 9/11. His book, Targeting Top Terrorists: Understanding Leadership Removal in Counter-terrorism Strategy, was published by Columbia University Press in 2019.

In 2019, Price completed an ICF-certified leadership coaching and organizational performance program at Rutgers University. He volunteers as a mentor/coach for high-potential women business leaders at WOMEN Unlimited. Price also runs a performance coaching and mental skills business called Top Mental Game, where he works with teams, athletes, and business leaders.

He holds a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy in U.S. history, an M.A. in international relations from St. Mary’s University (TX), and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University.


panRobin Schilke is an Art, Design, and Multimedia Major with a concentration in Graphic Design and Advertising at Seton Hall University also pursuing minors in Business Administration and Web Design. She has over 5 years of experience in graphic design and photography. She currently is breaking into the world of UX/UI Design as the Creative Director for a startup that brings leadership skills to college students. She spent two years as a Graphic Design Intern for Seton Hall Athletics Marketing Department. Now, she is going on 3 years as a Social Media Coordinator for the Buccino Leadership Institute and recently started interning at Classic Soccer Cleats.

panRachel Badway is a Finance major with a minor in Wealth Management. She is passionate about leadership and is a member of the Buccino Leadership Institute at Seton Hall University. She is the founder and CEO of a startup aimed at providing undergraduates with access to key leadership skills. She began this startup after being selected to lead a team to develop her original idea.
