Abstract

In this session Adam explores multiple applications of the High-Velocity Productivity mindset. He offers practical ways to guide, navigate and control work whilst maintaining speed and focus. He covers best practices that inform the approach as well as his own learning and experiences in implementing it. He examines how the Getting Things Done framework, Toyota Production System Rules-in-Use, and Theory of Constraints inform the High-Velocity Productivity mindset and enable ongoing individual, team, and organizational improvements, respectively.

Bio:
Adam is the president of Cherrill Consulting Group (CCG). CCG delivers aerospace & defense business intelligence and advisory solutions to maximize situational awareness, transform operational capability, and sustain competitive advantage.

Adam's Aerospace & Defense industry leadership spans 25+ years across the life cycle of strategy / business / technology development, capture / proposal & opportunity pipeline management, and project / program / portfolio execution, both domestically and internationally.

CCG's current and recent clients include the largest U.S. Aerospace & Defense industry Prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman. CCG has earned the trust and repeat business from these and other mid-size A&D firms as a result of our thought leadership, client partnership, results ownership, and ethical stewardship.

In May 2019 Adam was elected to the National Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC-USA) and currently serves as its At-Large Membership Chapter President.  Adam is a certified Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), the apex credential offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Prior to launching CCG in January 2017, Adam was Senior Director, Strategy and Innovation, at Alliant Techsystems' (ATK) Armament Systems Division (AS□). Prior to this assignment, Adam was the Senior Director, Co-Production Market Segment, during which time he led a geographically-distributed capture team that built a $18+ international growth pipeline across the Far East, Middle East, and India. Adam also held positions as Program Director, Precision Weapons, and Direct or, Business Development, during his seven-year tenure with ATK.

Prior to joining Alliant Techsystems (ATK) in April 2010, Adam held various engineering, business development, and program management positions during a thirteen-year tenure with Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS). His last assignment at RMS was Senior Program Manager of a state-of­ the-art air and missile defense development program, executed in close cooperation with an international partner under the sponsorship of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.

Adam holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on system dynamics and feedback control, as well as an MBA in general management, all awarded by the University of Arizona.
