Abstract:
This presentation empowers project leaders to align their project portfolios with organizational strategy and priorities. We’ll explore how strong governance frameworks and committed leadership are essential to managing project intake, conducting meaningful phase gate reviews, and, most importantly, delivering the business value our project investments are meant to achieve. At its core, this session is about ensuring that every project drives measurable value for the organization.
From strategy to execution to realized business benefits, the session focuses on practical tools and proven methods for achieving successful outcomes. Attendees will learn how to:
- Establish a tailored project management framework and methodology suited to their organization’s unique needs
- Develop and maintain compelling business cases to ensure that only the right projects are selected
- Build a practical "PM Toolkit" to support project managers in delivering with consistency and excellence
- Create and manage benefit realization plans and trackers—critical tools to maintain focus on forecasted benefits that often extend beyond project closeout
By the end of this session, participants will leave with a renewed perspective on how to better connect project management to organizational strategy—and maximize the value of every project investment.
Speaker:
Marc Resch is a business consultant specializing in project, process, and change management, with a strong focus on driving sustainable change through strategic project investments. He’s thrilled to return to the exceptional PMINJ chapter, reconnecting with friends and colleagues who share a passion for advancing project management excellence.
Outside of his professional work, Marc has a deep interest in local history and an enthusiasm for international sports tournaments. He’s especially excited for next year’s World Cup, with the final taking place at MetLife Stadium — right in time to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Here in New Jersey, many places lay claim to “George Washington slept here,” but in the case of this PMI event venue, it just might be true — we’re gathering in the heart of the Crossroads of the American Revolution!
