Abstract
A Power Skills Model for Phenomenal Team Culture
The benefits of a positive workplace culture, such as increased engagement, greater productivity, and higher retention, are well known. These benefits can also translate to teams when a positive team culture exists. Broad tactics like showing empathy and using transparent communication are a good start. But what tactics can we use to go beyond those broad topics and build a truly phenomenal project culture?
That journey begins by placing a focus on three key elements: making the team feel heard, feel safe, and feel valued. What does this do for us? It takes the mental energy devoted to competition, devoted to protecting individual success, and frees that up to be devoted to success of initiatives.
In this session, we’ll cover critical tactics related to each of these key elements. You can make your teams feel safe through adaptability and problem solving. Make them feel heard through tangible use of high EQ and tact as a secret weapon. You can make them feel valued through impartiality and making connections.
This specific combination of power skills (soft skills) provides a model and something tangible that you can use to immediately start building phenomenal culture in your teams!

Abstract
What Leaders Should Know About “Change Fatigue” and Its Impact On Delivery Teams
The speed of organizational transformation, propelled by the emergence of Generative AI, is accelerating, even as the effects of the Covid pandemic from 2020 persist.
These factors, coupled with the implementation of diverse value delivery models, compel organizations to continuously assess methods for enhancing value delivery. Identifying the most effective framework to support this change is crucial. Agile methodologies and associated certifications have undergone considerable development since the introduction of the first Certified Scrum Master certificate in 2002, with the total number of Agile certifications now exceeding 60 across different frameworks.
Collectively, these considerations signify substantial change and are emphasized in numerous surveys. A recent Gartner report (“Top 5 priorities for HR Leaders”) shows that 77% of employees are experiencing change-related fatigue and 82% believe managers lack the skills to address change fatigue.
A notable trend is emerging, emphasizing the need for leadership to acknowledge and devise strategies to combat workplace change fatigue. Many employees are experiencing stress related to change, resulting in performance levels below the average.
This session will delve into:
- the ramifications of change fatigue
- the imperative for leaders to effectively manage it
- our solution to help clarify and manage the rate of change.
Randy Shumpert
Randy Shumpert is a business transformation leader with a passion for teaching, coaching, and applying value delivery principles, behaviors, and practices. Helping organizations move from traditional project models to a customer-centric incremental value delivery model is hard, but crucial to their success in the digital age. As Agile has matured, he believes some of the fundamentals have gotten crushed by the mixture of competing frameworks and tools. Value delivery is rooted in Agile fundamentals like: People & Interactions over Process and Tools; Gemba. Mr. Shumpert approaches his business transformation and consulting from this perspective.
