Abstract

Forensic Schedule Delay analysis is a blend of technical expertise and judgement-oriented practice, that depends on the quality of data, transparent assumptions, and professional interpretation. With the plethora of available AI tools, it necessitates the professionals to leverage its assistance in forensic analysis workflows, and project controls.

This session delves at a high-level, non-technical exploration of the interactions between AI and schedule forensics. The essence of this session is to share observations, stimulate discussion, and invite perspectives from practitioners, rather than to prescribe methods. Rather than focusing on forensic delay methods or advanced AI tools, the discussion will center on where schedule forensics depend on human judgment, the common challenges faced in delay analysis, and the potential role AI could play as a support tool, for example, in organizing information, highlighting inconsistencies, or improving clarity in documentation.

Learning Objectives:
  • Get a clearer sense of where AI can actually help in forensic schedule analysis and where it can’t
  • Understand why data quality and assumptions still make or break the outcome
  • Talk through real risks like bias, transparency, and defensibility when using AI
  • Reinforce why professional judgment still sits at the center of the work
