Our chapter’s Agile Local Community of Interest (LCI) group meets in-person about three times a year prior to the main presentation at our monthly programs.  Some attendees have expressed an interest to extend the discussions that occur at these gatherings.  Furthermore, it is not always convenient or possible for members to attend these occasional monthly meetings. 

Therefore, we have initiated this discussion group to concentrate on topics regarding agile project management challenges, best practices, and experiences.  This forum will provide discussions that will be more accessible to our members.

The group meets on Wednesday during the week after the PMINJ monthly meeting. Each meeting will have a specific topic for discussion.  The meetings will be conducted virtually and will be facilitated by a veteran Agile practitioner(s).  To help foster an engaging experience and get the most benefit out of the discussion group, all attendees are encouraged to actively participate and not just listen and observe.

Topic: Agile Certifications – A Conversation Starter

The PMINJ Agile LCI will conduct our remote agile discussion group to share information about agile certifications. This is a repeat of the session that we did in February since it was very popular and more members may be interested in getting agile certifications over the summer.

Do we really need more acronyms? CSM or PSM? PSPO or CSPO? CSP or ACP? What do these mean and which path should you take to pursue agile certifications? Not interested? Maybe you should be! Perhaps you will be interviewing someone holding one or more of these or you may want to obtain a few for yourself to help you understand and work with agile teams.

During the session we will discuss what certifications you could consider through a comparison across a few tracks and how to get there.

Note: To anyone who attended the February remote Agile Discussion Group - This presentation will include the same content.

Based on survey feedback from our last session (Inspect and Adapt) we will ensure that there is more time for questions and discussion throughout the presentation. We plan to formally end the presentation and discussion at 7pm but Bob and Nitin will stay on-line until 7:15pm for any additional questions.

This meeting will be conducted virtually using Zoom.  To participate in this group, you will need the following:

  • Reliable Internet connection.
  • Web camera (self-facing). You are expected to use the camera and make yourself visible during the meeting.
  • Microphone and speakers / earbuds / headphones / headset.
