Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure
(Student Paper of the Year)
Presented by Paola Gutierrez, Deborah Sgro,
Linjun Zhang, Tom McCaffrey, and Thomas McCarthy
Although the current economic conditions have
made many of us more conservative when buying and selling
stocks, no matter the size or breadth of our portfolios one
concern remains constant – the need for secure financial
transactions. The Secure Financial Transaction
Infrastructure (SFTI) project was designed and created to be
the financial industry’s most secure and resilient network
for electronic trading, connecting financial markets across
the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. With
SFTI, customers of the New York Stock Exchange Euronext will
be able to communicate and trade electronically with their
customers, suppliers, and business partners in a safe,
secure, reliable and efficient manner. These needs
have taken on added dimensions in the post-911 world.
The team being recognized today was one of many submitted
from Dr. Aaron Shenhar's Project Management and Leadership
class at Stevens Institute of Technology.
