Abstract
A Work Breakdown Structure remains one of the most effective ways to define project scope and clarify what “done” means. What has changed is how quickly teams can now build, refine, and adapt a WBS using AI-assisted planning and scenario analysis.
In this virtual session, Mathew Sparkes from Project Insight will demonstrate a modern approach to WBS planning using AI-enabled planning techniques and What If simulations. Attendees will learn how to accelerate initial planning, maintain scope visibility in Agile and hybrid environments, and evaluate the downstream impact of timeline, capacity, and priority changes before execution risks occur.
The session will include practical demonstrations focused on:
- Building an initial WBS faster using AI-assisted planning
- Maintaining traceability across Agile and hybrid delivery models
- Running What If simulations to evaluate scheduling and resource tradeoffs
- Rolling project plans up into portfolio-level visibility
- Supporting better portfolio decision-making through modern planning techniques
- Maintaining a living WBS throughout iterative delivery cycles
This will be an interactive walkthrough, and attendees will receive access to a free Project Insight workspace for hands-on practice after the session.
